Doctor Who Tonight!The story is set on Mars in the year 2059 and the Doctor will be joined by a new companion named Adelaide Brooke, played by Lindsay Duncan, who is head of the Mars colony Bowie Base One. Producer Nikki Wilson described the character as "the Doctor's cleverest and most strong-minded companion yet."
On 8 November 2009, a short trailer was played on BBC One, showing the Doctor walking on the surface of Mars, talking of fixed events in time and shown in the base, and relaying the status of the water monster as an unknown infection that's spreading. In this trailer, it is also implied that Adelaide's death is one of the fixed points that must occur.
I SO CAN'T WAIT! Everyone I know will be watching and telling various family members that they know someone called Adelaide. It's going to be so much fun!
